On Friday 6th July, four members of staff at The Frost Partnership, including Managing Director John Frost, took on a charity cycle challenge which covered over 55 miles encompassing all 13 Frost Partnership offices throughout The Chilterns, The Thames Valley and Middlesex.
Their efforts raised an impressive £1,302.20 for Wooden Spoon, a children’s charity that is dedicated to helping disadvantaged children and young people across the British Isles, helping them live happier, richer lives through providing sporting opportunities and equipment. The funds raised will specifically help children and young people in the areas local to our office network.
The first leg of the journey started at 9.30am from the Feltham Office, where they progressed to Ashford, Staines and Wraysbury – covering the Middlesex branches. The second leg covered The Thames Valley region where they passed the Langley, Windsor and Burnham offices. The final leg of the journey through the Chiltern Hills, proved to be tough on their weary legs. They visited Flackwell Heath, Beaconsfield, Amersham, Chalfont St Giles and Chalfont St Peter branches before finally reaching their final destination, the Gerrards Cross office by 5.30pm.
Laura Collins, sales negotiator from Flackwell Heath office said the strain started to show as they climbed Treadway Hill into Flackwell Heath. “The rain literally poured all day but it didn’t dampen our spirits. We stopped for a breather at each office and were grateful for all the energy drinks, nibbles and support from our colleagues! We had a few punctures along the way and we were particularly relieved to start the descent on White Pit Hill into Wooburn Green, having climbed some of the hills surrounding Flackwell Heath. Once we were on the home run the sun came out which gave us a much needed boost! All in all it was a remarkable day – but not one to be repeated for a while! We are thrilled to have raised a substantial amount of money for Wooden Spoon and would like to thank everyone who supported us for their generous donations.”
