Energy Performance Certificates (EPC’s) will assist home owners and house purchasers to reduce their buildings’ carbon emissions and help to tackle climate change.
You may be wondering what are these building emissions? They are the way in which a building is constructed, insulated, heated, ventilated and the types of fuel used which all contribute to increased carbon emissions.
If you are selling or renting a home, it is now necessary by law, to have an EPC to measure how energy efficient your home is. The EPC report is accompanied by recommendations giving advice on how to improve the energy rating of your home. A separate rating is also given to show what could be achieved if all of the recommendations were actually implemented.
