Charity Fun Day raises £5000 in glorious sunshine

Glorious sunshine and a host of activities brought over a thousand people to Slough RFC’s Summer Fun Day on Sunday 8th June. Activities included circus skills, touch rugby and a tug-of-war competition but the main event was the Slough RFC v Arsenal Legends & Celebrities football match, with Slough RFC the jubilant victors by the narrowest of margins at 4-3. The Gunners charity side included EastEnders actor Sam Attwater, ex-Galatasaray player Evren Arkali and snooker player Alfie Burden while Slough RFC boasted former England and Wasps player Paul Rendall pictured here with The Frost Partnership’s Jeremy Fisher.

A number of charities will benefit from the event which raised over £5,000, with proceeds from the day going to support Slough RFC’s work in the community and improve its facilities, and also the Arsenal Foundation which was launched in 2012 to support a range of community and charitable projects both in the UK and overseas including Arsenal FC's official charity partners Save the Children and Willow Foundation.

Congratulations to everyone who made the event such a success!
