Further redevelopment for Slough.

Slough Borough Council has announced plans for a massive redevelopment scheme on the former Thames Valley University site in Slough to include 1400 new homes, 45,000 sq ft of retail/leisure space and 250,000 sq ft of office space. It is hoped to attract £550m investment for the scheme on the Slough campus which closed in 2010, and will be the largest single local authority regeneration project outside Greater London.

The project will see the transformation of land on the corner of Bath Road and Stoke Road which has been derelict and will complement The Heart of Slough £45m investment programme including the redevelopment of the bus station, the demolition of the old library site and the recently completed £22m cultural hub project “The Curve” in Slough’s town centre. The Curve houses a library, a 280 seat performance venue, and spaces for council meetings and exhibitions.

With the additional opportunities that Crossrail will bring to Slough, the town’s future looks exceptionally bright. For information on properties to buy or rent in the Slough area, contact your local property expert in The Frost Partnership’s Slough office.
