Competitive agency fees and more added value services

Last year legislation was put in place to help tenants be aware of the fees they would incur when renting a property and to help establish these costs prior to arranging an appointment to view a property.

The Frost Partnership has always been completely transparent about the costs and fees a tenant will incur and welcomed the legislation, as unfortunately, there were a minority of agents who keep their (often excessive) fees hidden from tenants until they had committed to rent a property.

Sebastian Rodriguez, Manager of Lettings in our Feltham office explains that “Whilst our fees are very competitive, fees vary substantially from one lettings agency to another, so I would advise tenants to be vigilant and ask for the breakdown before viewing a property. Fees that should be disclosed could include; The Tenancy, a Referencing Check on the individual tenants, an Administration Fee and a Check-In fee. I know that at least one of the other local lettings agents require a Tenants Agreement fee that is 3 times more than The Frost Partnership Tenancy Agreement Fee.”

It is not only tenants that should be aware of extra costs, Landlords should also conduct research before appointing an agent to rent their property out.  The Frost Partnership offers a FREE 12 month Rent Guarantee and Legal Protection policy for landlords, where some agents will charge a monthly fee or yearly fee for this on top of their agreed commission.

Sebastian adds, “We look to improve the quality of lettings service that both our landlords and tenants receive and to ensure a smooth and successful let for both parties.  As a result we retain a very high percentage of our landlords’ business. Being a member of RICS (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) and ARLA (Association of Residential Lettings Agents), we adhere to strict codes of conduct and it’s in our personal interest to make our lettings service a happy experience for all parties.”
