650 boys and girls and their families joined Slough RFC in the spring sunshine on Sunday for a celebration of KIDS FIRST Rugby at the 2019 Wynford Phillips Festival. Twelve clubs sent teams to play in age groups from U7 to U12. Slough RFC was also pleased to welcome local school St Bernard’s Prep who were attending for the first time. In good KIDS FIRST form, a number of mixed teams were created on the day so that children got maximum playing time. Pools were kept small and games were managed by the coaches of participating teams to ensure that players had the best experience possible.

Spotlight on Flackwell Heath - our estate agent’s view. With a population of around 6000, Flackwell Heath is a desirable village nestled on top of a ridge in the Chiltern Hills between High Wycombe, Marlow and Beaconsfield. It enjoys superb views on three sides yet is just south of Junction 3 of the M40, with good access to the M25, and central London. Chiltern Trains to London Marylebone from High Wycombe or Beaconsfield have a journey time of just over 20 minutes.

At a time when the importance of mental health is gaining awareness, we are proud to support the Charlie Waller Memorial Trust’s event The Best of Rock Musicals, hosted by Sir Tim Rice at the Eventim Apollo in Hammersmith on Sunday May 12th including songs from Jesus Christ Superstar, Evita, Miss Saigon, RENT, Wicked and The Lion King. The Charlie Waller Memorial Trust was formed in 1997 by the Waller family in memory of their son and brother, Charlie, who took his own life whilst suffering from depression. The Trust offers support and education to those affected by depression and mental illness and its vision is of a world where people understand and talk openly about depression; where young people are educated on the importance of staying mentally well, and where treatment is available to everyone who needs it.

Spotlight on Chalfont St Giles – our estate agents view. Chalfont St Giles, in Buckinghamshire, is an idyllic village within prime commuter territory 25 miles from London yet full of historic charm. Excellent transport links include mainline trains from Gerrards Cross to London Marylebone in under 20 minutes and the Metropolitan Line, with Chalfont & Latimer, Chorleywood, Amersham and Rickmansworth stations all nearby. The M25 and M40 are nearby putting Heathrow, Luton and Gatwick airports easily within reach, yet the village retains its quaint, quintessentially English character set within spectacular open countryside; the best of both worlds.
